Founded in October 1999, Lion Air began operations on 30 June 2000. Lion Air has flown scheduled passengers between Jakarta and Pontianak using a Boeing 737-200 leased. Lion Air and Boeing pioneered the use of the Required Navigation Performance procedure (RNP) in Indonesia. Lion Air and Boeing also successfully validate flights at two airports in Ambon and Manado.
In February 2010, Lion Air increased the number of flights to Jeddah to five times a week. This route is served by two Boeing 747-400s with 496 seats. On September 11, 2012, Lion Air and National Aerospace & Defense Industries Sdn Bhd (Nadi) worked together to establish a new airline in Malaysia, named Malindo Airways in May 2013. Not only that, both partners also agreed to form another JV which provides aircraft maintenance services to all aircraft in Lion Air Group, including the joint venture airlines among them.

Duties and responsibilities:- Responsible for meeting the HR needs of all departments of Lion Air Group
- Conduct a CV / Resume screening of prospective employees
- Regulate recruitment schedule, invite prospective employees and prepare any administration recruitment required
- Coordinate with User / PIC of each work unit related to recruitment process
- Create weekly and monthly recruitment reports
- Maintain and update prospective employee databases
